About us |
Meetings and field trips |
The Pineywoods Audubon Society (PAS) originated in 1966 as a Natural History Club and voted to become an affiliate of the National Audubon Society in 1969. For years, it operated as the Nacogdoches County Audubon Society until the late 1990s when it became the Pineywoods Audubon Society as it expanded its membership to residents of Angelina County and other nearby counties in East Texas.
We are dedicated to promoting conservation, education, and appreciation of birds and other wildlife in the East Texas Pineywoods and beyond. Explore this website to learn more about the PAS and birding in the Pineywoods! |
Meetings are traditionally held monthly September through May (except January) on the the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. Our meetings are free, open to the public, and normally include an informative program. We strongly encourage masks and social distancing for our in-person indoor meetings. We also host several field trips throughout this nine month period.
Join our email list, and/or "like" our Facebook Page for the most recent information on upcoming field trips and meetings. You can also join our Facebook Group to talk with and hear from other members of the PAS! You do not need to have a Facebook account to view our page and group.
